Odense, a cozy, tolerant city in the south of Denmark. Alleys with colorful houses, lots of nature and even more relaxation. Ready for a weekend trip?

Odense is the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen. Here a whole museum is dedicated to him - the H.C. Andersens Hus. A visit is worthwhile. Both the modern wooden architecture and the interactive, audio-guided exhibition about Hans Christian Andersen and his fairy tales are especially great.

If you are hungry, we recommend Storms Pakhus. Storms Pakhus is a popular place to try food from all over the world. A real food market. The atmosphere is really cozy. The market is open until 11pm every day, and even longer on weekends.

Just outside the city is Odense Zoo, with its new 250-meter tree-top walk and countless animals. Close by is "Den Fynske Landsby". This is a Fyn village where you can visit old houses and learn more about the former life in Denmark.

A great hotel is Odeon*. It is centrally located and offers a delicious breakfast.
