You want to make sure you don't miss any of the best? We have the most important information about the heart of the Balearic Islands for you.

Arrival

The Airport in Palma offers direct flights from many European destinations. You should already think of booking a rental car Rental carbefore your trip begins, so that you can start right after your arrival.

Hotel

There are many options for an all-inclusive vacation in Mallorca, especially in the south of the island. However, we recommend you a vacation apartment*, for example in Alcúdia in the north of the island. If you are traveling with several people, you can rent a finca*.

Places of interest

Your round trip starts in Palma. The cathedral, which is called "La Seu" by the inhabitants, is the landmark of the Majorcan capital. With its gigantic size, it is recognizable from afar. The interior of the church is also worth seeing. The style is reminiscent of some buildings in Barcelona. The architect Antoni Gaudi played a big role in the construction of the church. Take a seat and let the atmosphere inspire you! Especially the light spectacle is a must-see. The light that falls through the colorful windows bathes the interior in different colors. Especially on sunny days, the play of colors is a highlight.

Afterwards, you can stroll through the winding streets and large squares of Palma. Mercat de l’Olivar is also worth a visit. Treat yourself to a small snack before your tour continues. The delicious tartlets we show in the video are available at Café Rosevelvet.

A long walk leads you to the Castell de Bellver. Here you have one of the most beautiful views of Palma. The castle also impresses with its round shape, because that is unique.

After reading about Palma, you definitely want to see the other highlights in Mallorca. For this you need a Rental car*, so you can explore many other beautiful places. When renting a car, you should pay attention to the following aspects:

- You should have your own credit cardas main driver and renter of the car. The rental car must be booked with this credit card.

– You should check the rental conditions carefully. Are there additional costs because you are a young driver? Or because you want to pick up the car outside the regular opening hours? What is the refueling policy?

- You should book your rental car in advance Sonst sind die günstigen Mietwagen schnell vergriffen und Du musst ungewollt ein (teures) Cabrio mieten 😉

- With the beginning of the rent you should get a handover protocol . Here are all the damages on the car recorded. It is best to take photos or videos of all the damage again with your mobile phone. This is important, especially if you have booked an insurance with excess.

These highlights are outside of Palma:

In only 15 minutes by car, you reach El Arenal. Here the nightlife takes place at the famous Ballermann . Shopping, chilling, dancing until the morning - this and much more is possible here. The place is always well-visited. If you want a more relaxed vacation, you should rather book your accommodation in another part of the island, for example in the north. Here are also the most beautiful beaches (Playa de Muro). Crystal clear water, pleasant bathing temperatures from June to October - that is Mallorca.

A highlight is Cap Formentor, the northernmost point of the island. The 17 kilometer long, winding road begins in Port de Pollenca. In the summer months there is a shuttle bus, otherwise you can drive with your car or go by bike. The cape is 284 meters above sea level, but even on the way there are numerous viewpoints from which you can look far into the distance. You can also see Mallorca‘s sister island Menorca from here.

Besides beach lovers and sun worshippers, Mallorca is also popular for hikers, for example in Serra de TramuntanaSince 2011, the national park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are many different routes, both for experienced peak climbers and for newcomers. The highest peak is the Puig Major. It is 1,445 meters high. We recommend a circular trail around the Cúber reservoir. Make sure you have sturdy shoes and enough to eat and drink. The trail is not an easy walk.

In the Serra there are two very beautiful villages that you should visit: Valldemossa and Sóller. Here you have to try the traditional potato pastry coca de patata. With a rental car or a historic train you can go to Port de Sóller, where you can end the day with delicious tapas.

What we love about Mallorca are the numerous options for every type of traveller. Beachlovers, adventure seekers, night owls. You can experience a lot in a week. That's what makes Mallorca a very special destination.
